Default Skill balance this month?

I know anet doesn't always do content updates and skill updates at the same time, but it would be nice to know if we are getting one. Anet told us they'd be releasing them every other month to give us better balances (I'll believe that part when I see it) so I wanted to know if we can expect one or not.

Since next week is thanksgiving, I'm thinking not. :\

I doubt it.

Also, this is November, not October.

The last one was in September so it should have been in November.

PS. The US celebrates thanksgiving in November.

At this point, what I think is needed most is a Developer or Journal Update. The last month has seen a string of updates: Halloween, removal of HB + TA and addition of CA, removal of heroes from PvP and addition of henchmen, and UW changes. Some solid reasoning behind the latter, and an indication of whether the changes are going to be taken further, would be very helpful. Apart from that, what else is coming up?

The last skill balance was 17th September. So actually, it's only a little over two months ago. ANet could still fulfill their promise of bi-monthly skill updates with one next week, but with the MAT 2 days later, PvP changes would have to be minimal. Probably best to wait until the week after, as the cycle can then be renewed with updates at the start of the month rather than near the end.

They'd be very dumb to update this week. Reason i'm pissed personally is they said they'd be more open and that because they couldnt manage to do a monthly update, they'll not do bimonthly either. Also it was said that they'd provide dev updates a month before said balance to get input (and then ignore) but this hasn't appeared either. Since september they've said jack to do with balances as far as i know.

I bet the next skill update will be them nerfing 5 skills and calling it a balance update.

I would have rather you kept lieying to us Anet, you asked us for "in return for this openness, we expect you, our community, to be understanding" What openness?

OP you should be happy if we get a update before the start of the new year,I know im not expecting anything that we can call a balance update for a while.

Or is it 4 considering that in 2 months they'll be busy with Wintersday?

Instead of a bit of PvP tweaks no one cares about.

Yeah i'd rather have skill updates atm, and although i'd rather just see nerfs atm because anet can't do buffs right without breaking the game.

The list was purely to that guy who asked what else was supposed to be coming, although i disagree that noone would care about GvG tiebreaker change and HoH...

Its not so much the lack of skill balance as indicated, its the fact they're aren't communicating or saying anything. WTB Proper CR, 100k +50e!

Yet they should have realized that before making it public or at least told us when it was going to start. At this point their lack of communication (and I'm not blaming Regina for this because at this point it is the higher-up's fault) has left us completely in the dark once again. If they are going to make a public commitment, they need to back it up. If they need to add another designer or two, then that's what they aught to do. Lying to the fans to placate us and then being caught in the lie does not ingratiate themselves to us any more.

I am trying to give Anet a fair chance but they aren't making it easy on the community.

Unfortunately the company probably works the same way as most other companies.

You have management deciding what they want doing and when they want it done by.

Then marketing announces when this will all happen.

Finally you have someone doing the actual work, and they are the ones that know what's involved and how long it might realistically take to finish.

There will also probably be several changes to the list of what's wanted while the work is in progress.

Result nothing ever gets done perfectly and on time except by amazing good luck.

regina just posted in all of the QQ threads that there probably won't be an update this month. I'm going to put my money on a wintersday skill balance.

In case you didn't see Regina's response, here it is.

Basically, the generic "we're working on it" response. I, personally, doubt we'll see anything until January.

I'm curious, did Regina just admit here that she values the progress on the skill updates as practically worthless?

No...she means for what it's worth to the guru members, who constantly QQ about said subject.

Although...if you take past precedent into consideration...it doesn't seem like they really care.

It's like the XTH. You can say you care about it and are working on it, but if it's been 7 months and nothing happens......people are going to start calling BS.
